The town of Bellac is particularly photogenic and harmonious, with its old bridge spanning the peaceful waters of the Vincou river, and its hilltop houses nestling around Notre-Dame church. The latter is home to the most ancient reliquary of Limousin.

Worth a visit: Jean Giraudoux's birth house, which is home to numerous documents and souvenirs of the famous writer.

Not to be missed: the Bellac festival dedicated to theatre and jazz, which takes place every year at the beginning of July.
