Known as the Norman Versailles, Beaumesnil Castle, built between 1633 and 1640, is a remarkable example of the Louis XIII baroque style. A listed Historic Monument, this splendid brick and stone building adorned with sculpted features and surrounded by moats, open to visitors from Easter to late September, has beautiful furnished rooms as well as a splendid collection of old book bindings.

All around, a 80-hectare park designed by La Quintinie, Le Nôtre's assistant in Versailles, is ideal for a leisurely stroll, with its French-style gardens, water mirror and box hedge maze...
