Beautiful villages can be found in Bearn, such as Navarrenx, Salies-de-Béarn and Sauveterre-de-Béarn. Here is a small sample:
- Located at the edge of the Oloron mountain stream, Navarrenx is a town surrounded by fortifications dating from the 11th century. By looking at these fortifications, you can really understand how this village was well protected. Ramparts are also pleasant for walks.
- Salies-de-Béarn is a town with small flower-filled alleyways and old houses lining the river with a waterfall.
- Well-kept medieval town and decorated with flowers, Sauveterre-de-Béarn is built on a calcareous cliff in a magnificent site dominating the Oloron mountain stream.
