Nestling in the heart of a magnificent cirque, the village of Baume-les-Messieurs, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, takes advantage of an exceptional natural surrounding. The famous high cliffs can be contemplated off several viewpoints dominating the roofs of Baume-les-Messieurs. Once arrived in the village, the visit of the abbey Benedictine founded in the 6th century should not be missed. Its Romanesque abbey church is unusual in that it is home to a magnificent Flemish altarpiece dating from the 16th century.
