The Basque villages are consisting of beautiful white half-timbered houses of various colours. Every Basque village generally possesses its "fronton" allowing to play the Basque ball game. Here are some of these villages:

   - Sare, a typical village of the Nivelle valley where a stroll is pleasant;

   - Ainhoa, beautiful fortified town of the 13th century;

   - Arcangues, with its delightful school and its church which are really worth a visit;

   - Labastide-Clairence, a typical village with red half-timberings and its fronton.
