Straddling three regions (Franche-Comté, Lorraine and Alsace) and four départements (Haute-Saône, Vosges, Territoire de Belfort and Haut-Rhin), this park covers an area of 3,000 km². The Vosges mountain region consists of a variety of landscapes, including peaked mountains, round-topped ones (ballons) and alpine pastures (hautes chaumes). The highest summit of this stunning protected area is the Grand Ballon (1,424 metres high) in the Haut-Rhin. With its waymarked footpaths, the park has everything to keep walkers and nature lovers happy.
