A listed Historical Monument and Remarkable Garden, the Balaine Arboretum in Villeneuve-sur-Allier is the oldest private botanical park in France. Founded in 1804 by Aglaé Adanson, this English-style garden, which is open to the public from March to late November, contains over 2,500 species and varieties of plants in its 20 hectares, including a superb collection of exotic plants.
Around the typical Bourbonnais castle, sequoias, Lebanon cedars, Japanese maples, as well as magnolias, azaleas and hydrangeas will delight garden-lovers. An ideal place to relax, get away from it all or take a botanical walk...
Lovers of gardening and plants will not want to miss the Plants Days that take place every year in the 3rd weekend of April!
