The Balagne region consists of a coastal area, situated between Calvi and the north of L'Île-Rousse, and an inland area with hills overlooking the sea. Formerly nicknamed the "garden of Corsica", the Balagne region still carries very well its name. Indeed, this magnificent region abounds of fig trees, olive groves, orchards and palm trees. It is also dotted with beautiful hilltop villages with narrow streets and typical houses, such as Sant'Antonino, Speloncato, Pigna, Lumio, Aregno, Belgodère and many others. It also has magnificent Baroque churches to visit, such as that of Lumio and Corbara.

The Balagne Craft Trail (Route des Artisans de Balagne) introduces visitors to local traditions and know-how.
