With a surface area of 395,000 hectares, the Auvergne Volcanic Regional Nature Park is the largest Regional Nature Park in France! Spreading accross two départements, the Cantal and Puy de Dôme, the park includes four volcanic massifs, which formed several million years ago: the Puys mountain range, the mounts Cantal, the Cézallier plateau and Dore mountains. The park also boasts an old granite plateau: Artense. Lakes, peat bogs and gorges are also part of the landscape.
