Bordered with ramparts, the historic centre of Autun is home to a rich architectural heritage. In the heart of the old town, the Saint-Lazare cathedral, surmounted by a Gothic spire, has a remarkable Romanesque tympanum depicting the Last Judgment. Around the cathedral, the visit continues with the discovery of the medieval alleyways; the Rolin museum which exhibits collections of archaeological objects, sculptures and paintings; and of the Natural History museum.
