It is in the middle of the Charles-de-Gaulle roundabout that is the Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal Arch), a famous monument set up at the request of the emperor Napoléon Bonaparte. This place is the meeting point of twelve major boulevards forming together a star. From the top of the Arc de Triomphe, there is a good outline of the surroundings. The most famous side of the Arc de Triomphe is the one looking towards the Champs-Élysées, the prestigious avenue known all over the world. This beautiful paved avenue is home to breweries, cafés, cinemas as well as shops selling luxury goods. |
