Located at the southern tip of the department, where three provinces that are Touraine, Berry and Poitou, Yzeures enrolled at the confluence of two rivers, the Creuse and Gartempe.

Hicciodero the 5th century, and Vicus Iciodorum Pagus Iciodorensis the 6th century, then Ysorium the 13th century, it becomes Yzeures-sur-Creuse in 1926. This is one of the oldest villages of Touraine, occupation dates back to the Upper Palaeolithic, more than 10,000 years BC.
