Wintzfelden is the ban on communal Soultzmatt and derives its name from Wingolt monk, the monastery of Lautenbach, who cleared the place. A family of minor nobility bore the name of the place in 1255: Adelaide Wingoltzwelden.

From the late 18th century and until 1828, a small iron mine operated for the benefit of the blast furnace Bitschwiller. It was located in the valley of Kaltebach behind Thannwiller. The poor quality of ore, and especially the price of transportation to Bitschwiller, led to the abandonment of the operation.

The convent Schwartzenthann: the convent of canons regular of St. Augustine, founded around 1089 in Marbach (common Obermorschwihr), also included a nunnery. In 1117, the canonesses received land in the valley bottom and left Wintzfelden Marbach, to build a chapel dedicated to the Virgin in 1124, and a small convent building. They remained, however, closely related to their convent home.

The church Sainte-Odile, the first church Wintzfelden was dedicated to St. George and is dedicated to Saint Odile since 1862. She is quoted since 1336 as a subsidiary of the parish of Soultzmatt.

The lapidarium: it is next to the church Wintzfelden. There is a coffin and tombstones that were found in 1969 in the ruins of the convent Schwartzenthann.
