The gateway to Britain, meeting of Normandy, Maine and Anjou, Vitre is a city of art and history of 17,300 inhabitants. A human-sized city that offers lively and welcoming living environment quality.
Deployed around the castle, Vitre was a brilliant rise from the 14th century, mainly based on international trade of hemp canvas (or canvas). This was one of the busiest cities in Britain and has preserved its rich past, a unique architectural heritage which everyone can now see the hidden corners of old town center.
