Vielle-Aure village, situated 800 m above sea level, extends along the Neste d'Aure. The heart of the village is an authentic whole house fhould 17th and XVIII, with a Romanesque church.

Near Saint-Lary, resort and spa, not far from the Spanish border, Vielle-Aure is located on the GR 10 which connects the west to the Nature Reserve Néouvielle. To the east, this route can reach other villages in the canton. The trail route to St Jacques passes through the village to reach Spain.
