Vic-sur-Cère or Vic in Carladez is an old spa in the valley of the Cere in the Regional Natural Park Volcans d'Auvergne in nearby Le Puy and Griou Plomb du Cantal.
The territory of the county, covering 3,000 hectares of which one fifth of woods and forest, is located on the bottom of a valley that results from erosion of an ancient glacier moraine deposits which have created the throat and cascade of Pas-de-Cere.
The old town was built of lava stone and covered with slate or shale, is established on the eastern slopes of the valley, away from chaos rocky and wooded, with down the torrent of Iraliot.
It is serviced by national highway 122 between the tunnel Lioran and Aurillac, 54 by the main road linking the valley Vic-sur-Cère Gul and the Railway. The station is on the line Vic TER from Clermont-Ferrand to Toulouse.
Vic-sur-Cère is a city atypical. Ancient spa town, little political capital of Carladès when it was under the authority of the princes of Monaco and city pioneer in tourism. The first Sunday of December, Vic holds its Christmas market and offers children the country a show for all ages.
