TOWN PRESENTATION

Vic-sur-Cère or Vic in Carladez is an old spa in the valley of the Cere in the Regional Natural Park Volcans d'Auvergne in nearby Le Puy and Griou Plomb du Cantal.

The territory of the county, covering 3,000 hectares of which one fifth of woods and forest, is located on the bottom of a valley that results from erosion of an ancient glacier moraine deposits which have created the throat and cascade of Pas-de-Cere.

The old town was built of lava stone and covered with slate or shale, is established on the eastern slopes of the valley, away from chaos rocky and wooded, with down the torrent of Iraliot.

It is serviced by national highway 122 between the tunnel Lioran and Aurillac, 54 by the main road linking the valley Vic-sur-Cère Gul and the Railway. The station is on the line Vic TER from Clermont-Ferrand to Toulouse.


SIGHTSEEING

Vic-sur-Cère is a city atypical. Ancient spa town, little political capital of Carladès when it was under the authority of the princes of Monaco and city pioneer in tourism. EVENTS AND CELEBRATIONS

Every Tuesday and Friday, traders and craftsmen offer their products at the traditional market.

During the winter holidays, associations come together to celebrate the end of winter and early spring when the Carnival of Vic.

In April, the city celebrates its past during the Festival of thermal water drinkers.

May 1 is the opportunity to bring together all Carladez for the traditional Ball May 1

Every Tuesday in July and August, local talent animate the streets by offering free concerts in the Music Tuesdays.

On alternate Thursdays in July and August, the Guinguettes Cère revive the dances of the Belle Epoque. Golf driving range at the edge of the Cere, a bright and colorful open-air café is run by local and visiting musicians together on a stage open to the public to share songs and dances Carladès.

On alternate Thursdays in July and August, Gali & Magalie delight young and old in shows great illusions winning at the international festival of Marrakech.

July 14 is the time to celebrate the Arts Vicois. Thus, artists (painters, sculptors, poets, musicians, actors ...) fill the streets lined with stalls and exhibitions to celebrate the nation. The day concludes with the traditional torchlight procession, fireworks and dance hall.

The festival of the city carladésienne coincides with the festival of the arts and popular traditions of the world. During the week preceding the festival Aug. 15, more than 300 artists from five continents who share their cultures, their music, their songs and dances through the nights and days when the outdoor theater performances, events in the streets, parades of flower parades and fireworks are linked in a frantic pace.

In November, Carladésiens Carladès and lovers are invited to share their love of country at a banquet where the food, music, dance and joie de vivre of Carladès are in the spotlight. An evening of good, reunions and sharing.

The first Sunday of December, Vic holds its Christmas market and offers children the country a show for all ages.
