Small town overlooking a portion of the valley Giffre on a sunny slope, located between Taninges and Samoens. This is an authentic Savoyard village, hamlets typical compound of cottages and farmhouses you discover the charm of yesteryear. The welcome is warm.

The town was founded in Samoëns May 13, 1865. Near Giffre, was the hamlet of hoods (= village in Savoy), with a sense of hood, hence the name Lhotte for people: those who made baskets or who used to work.

• The Church of St. Guerin in the center of the village chief place in front of City Hall: stained glass, the pink marble altar and statues are old to see.
• Castle Graveruel: it remains in ruins.
• Jacquicourt The chapel is a beautiful chapel on the edge of the plateau Loex (pronounced law) to 1610 m.
• The tray Loex is a protected site with an area of 400 hectares, the remarkable landscape setting, which aims to preserve animal and plant species protected, identified in this massif is the case of the sundew (the most famous carnivorous plants) and capercaillie (a bird of Arctic origin of the species of fowl).
• The collar and the Lac de Joux Plane: between meadows with grazing herds of abundance around France and the Rally du Mont Blanc borrow the 12-km, mills, leading to the pass before diving into Morzine. From the lake, the panorama embraces the grand massif and Mont Blanc.
• The Giffre is stream based, which, while still long, offers the possibility of tonic walks on foot or by bike. Dishes marked trails in forests, ideal for families with young children ages.
• Lornaz Trail: This route provides a pleasant and informative. Leaving Verchaix it down to the tumultuous torrent of Valentine before returning to the church. On the course, 15 thematic panels offer to bring attention to a variety of subjects: fauna, flora, heritage, architecture ... The house red (Family Red) has a beautiful front door and a curtain paved with pebbles. Two tables of orientation you will also put a name on the summits of the region.

• Alpine Skiing: You can practice downhill skiing on all stations in the Grand Massif and Portes du Soleil, located near Verchaix.
• Bats: Family walks are on offer where you discover each day new scenery (Fixed Loex ...).
• Hiking sled dogs: Valley High Giffre offered to you to discover its nature and scenery.
• ATV: the marked trails allow you to easily reach the paths of pastures, you can also go hiking on Giffre.
• Swimming: lake is laid out on the town of Morillon where you can enjoy a swim and sunbathe. Swimming is supervised.
• Mini-golf: mini-golf with a 18-hole course located along the giffre.
• Petanque: a petanque is located near the mini-golf.
• Tennis: Two tennis courts and two walls are at your disposal. The ticket office is located at the tourist office.
• Fishing: private fishing lake of Joux Plane pass sold on site. You can fish for trout in the Giffre.
• Walks: You can make a pleasant walk along the path of discovery Lornaz or reach the plateau of Mount Loex, Joux Plane and many other walks on marked trails.
• White water sports: you try to rafting, canoeing, rafting, hydro speed, kayak ... on Giffre.
• Paragliding: Schools are open all year offering a comprehensive selection adapts to all practitioners.
