The common Urrugne has the distinction of being considered a village, but is actually one of the largest municipalities in the Basque Country, since it extends over 5000 hectares. It offers a wide variety of landscapes from the mountain cliffs of the famous Corniche Basque dominated by the coastal footpath.

In addition, Urrugne shares a border with Spain and is thus close to major Spanish cities such as Irun, Hondarribia and San Sebastian.

• Saint-Vincent

• A place of worship existed probably as early as the 10th century and suffered for many campaigns expansion or reconstruction until its destruction. The building was destroyed in the early 16th century and completely rebuilt in 1550 in Renaissance style. It is also influenced by the cultural architecture of Guipuzcoa.

• Listed as Historic Monument in 1925, thick exterior walls are supported by numerous buttresses and pierced with loopholes-gunboats.

• In 2009, the organ Merklin 1864 is transferred to the parish church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur Behovia and replaced by a larger instrument designed for the occasion by the factory Daldosso Gimont (Gers) .

• Chapel Socorri:

• The Chapel of Our Lady of Good Help Socorri or situated atop a hill overlooking Urrugne is a place of pilgrimage and a goal to walk very well known in the region.
• It is reasonable to assume that the foundation of the chapel dates from the early 17th century, the Basque Country underwent a revival of Marian devotion.
• So, it is a historical fact which would justify it: it is that in 1627 under the support of the sailors of Hendaye in the siege of Rochelle, the convoy of armed assistance to Bayonne and Saint-Jean-de Luz is close to the island of Ré occupied by the British. • Destroyed in 1793, the chapel was rebuilt in 1831 by the Municipality and donations from residents.
• The statue of the Virgin has been lost or destroyed, a picture replaced it, it would come from the Recollect Convent Cibourne when it closed in 1791.
• In the enclosure surrounding the chapel, stelae discoidal indicate the graves of victims of the cholera epidemic in 1855.

• Mount Calvary:

• Kalbario oratory is located atop a hill at 279 m altitude in the southern part of the territory of Urrugne at the foot of Mount Xoldokogaina.
• It can be reached easily by borrowing from the neck Courlecou a very accessible hiking trail (path Xoldoko gana), passing near the farm Larretxekoborda. A walk of less than 30 minutes to the summit of Mount Calvary.
• Since the 18th century at least, a Calvary stood atop the hill that became known as Mount Calvary, or Basque Kalbarioa. Before the Revolution, in addition to Calvary, stood on the plateau crowning the top, a chapel and the home of a hermit.
• During the fighting of 1793 and 1794, calvary, chapel and shrine were destroyed. Since then, only the foundations of walls, ruins and piles of stones reminiscent of the past existence of this high place of worship.
• In 1968, restoration work was undertaken, a small chapel was built at the southeast corner of the location of the dwelling of the hermit, whose foundations were razed to the ground and stored. A cross of wood about eight feet high was installed. The whole was encircled by large stones of slate stuck in the ground, preventing access to livestock.
• The great cross, killed by storms in 1997 and was replaced in April 2008.
