Triaucourt-en-Argonne is a village of 500 inhabitants located in the southwestern part of the department of Meuse, within 10 kilometers of the border with the department of Marne.

Unlike many villages in this area, Triaucourt is not a village "street", but rather a crossroads village with a large central square and eight routes of exit. This village is close to the great forest of Argonne, hence its name.

The climate is continental, however the proximity of the forest a few tempers and brings moisture. The resources come mainly from agriculture and handicrafts.

In recent years, near the motorway and the Meuse TGV station tend to do as a residential village.

Named after the farm (all villages "short") components, Triaucourt has been hard hit by the recent wars (it is located just over 30km from Verdun) and was a high place of resistance to the 'German occupation in particular because of the protection established by the forest.

The dialect was never much talk, in contrast, there is a fairly pronounced local accent, consisting of hanging on the first syllable.

There is no real specialty gourmet, but the quiche lorraine, lorraine the pot and dishes of eggs and potatoes are traditional dishes.

A Triaucourt to see: the fountain of Mutasse, the statue of Nicolas Lemaire Eloi to the post office, church Saint Nicolas who is a veritable fortress, the mansion of Lucien Poincare, the old water mill.

To see nearby: the village of Beaulieu-en-Argonne worth the detour.
