Situated in the Ile-de-France, in the Yvelines department, the city of Trappes is a green lung with 925 hectares of public green spaces, or 298 square meters per capita.

This is a city with strong roots in the ancient crossroads of two Roman roads from Paris to Dreux and Chartres. In the Middle Ages, is Trappes "villa muralis", a village surrounded by walls, five-door will allow access. The topography of the old part of town dates back centuries. In the 17th century, a portion of the territory of Trappes is attached to the royal domain (Versailles).
