Thuir, door Aspre.

Located at the foot of the Pyrenees foothills, Thuir is the wine center and economic Aspre. Old medieval walled city, it holds many treasures of its past.

Land of vineyards, viticulture links are very strong. Thuir is the capital of the famous aperitif Byrrh: Byrrh caves with the largest oak vat in the world attract thousands of visitors each year.

• The Cellera, instead of the founding of Thuir to 950, with the Church of Our Lady of Victory neo-classical chapel Piétad of the 15th century, the Saint Sebastian of the 14th century and its beautiful Baroque altarpiece .
• Remains of ancient walls and watchtowers of the second wall are still visible in many places.
• Thuir has two museums:

• Hunting and Nature Museum, site of synthesis of the fauna of the Pyrenees-Orientales.

• In December: "Once upon a time ... Thuir Christmas tales and legends." Each year, Thuir offers its residents and visitors to enter the wonderful world of stories and legends. • Castelnou, a few kilometers, is one of the most beautiful villages of France. Mecca of Medieval Catalonia, this village is popular with visitors for its location, its heritage and its many artisans.
