• History:

• Thionville appears for the first time in 753 in a chronicle the passage of Pepin the Short.
• "Theodon Villa" ranks of the Carolingian kings palace and there are large political and religious meetings, especially Charlemagne stayed there six times.
• From the 10th century, Thionville between the Germanic Empire, then became a fiefdom of the Counts of Luxembourg in the early second millennium.
