The village name comes from Soïo, the goddess worshiped by a Gallic tribe who made his capital Soyons.
On the site, you discover two prehistoric caves and concretions: the Cave of Nero and the Fox Hole. The first historical monument, invites you to a journey to the heart of prehistory; while the Fox Hole plunges us into the underground world and provides access to a magnificent network of stalactites and stalagmites.
In the heart of the village, the museum labeled "Museum of France" presents the archaeological collections which are mostly the result of excavations at Soyons and around. It traces the life of man from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
