Expanding village with a varied landscape and rich green woods and heaths that you discover through its trails.

There are traces of Sonzay from the 9th century under the name "Segunciacus" but in 1247 the charter of the monastery Marmoutier speaks of "parochia of sonzaio. The priory of the 10th century (since disappeared) took its origin from gifts of the lords of Motte Sonzay who were Alluye.

• The castle of La Motte (not open to visitors): high to 1507 instead of a castle of the 12th and 15th centuries, the cylindrical towers have been preserved. This castle has been restored.
• Castle of Cards: former stronghold in the 12th century already. The present castle was built in the 18th century by the family of the Rue du Can.
• The Romanesque church, rebuilt in the 16th party on the ruins of a building from the 10th and 11th century.
• The Gast, Commandery of the Knights Templar, then the order of Malta. The chapel is still converted into agricultural building.
• The bandstand decorated brick foundry slag.
