Village of the eastern slopes of the Vosges Mountains, Sondernach Mittlach shares with the privilege of being located upstream of a wide valley, watered by a stream forming the Fecht. The altitude of the center is located between 500 and 600 meters. The name of the village is not very clear, it could mean "nahe der Sonne" which means near the sun, or "zum Sundern Ach" which means "by the brook south," is the village Sondernach to the south of the valley.

Ideal for hikers, many walks for walking and cycling in the area, this quiet and relaxing delight you in every season.

The Festival Village, the first weekend in August, which includes a parade of floats made for the occasion and party, all the associations of the village and the many locals and tourists. Fireworks punctuated the event that has always very successful.
