Sindères comes from the Gascon Sanda (lat.semita collective suffix aria, "place where there are many paths"). The study of local place names "Biou, Winch" confirms the existence of ancient crossroads. But the Roman road known as Antoninus, the 3rd century AD, connecting Bordeaux to Spain, going on there. The city Coaequosa step would be located on this node communications.
Human occupation dating back to prehistory (Middle Bronze, and 1 final Iron Age, between the 12th and 8th century BC. JC), has been identified along the creek Sindères. They are found fragments of large vases decorated with pellets of dough, stretched strings, shots nail, a cup full, and the products of lithic flint arrowheads to wing, scrapers.
Country of open moorland, field of sheep, the land was forested after 1857, the opening of the railway Morcenx Uza in 1889 to allow the evacuation of wood.
The church "Sancta Maria de Sinzères" reported in the 12th century, is of Romanesque fortified. It is a massive building, supported by several spurs, with a square bell tower. The entrance was protected by a bretèche, which remains a relic, a monolithic carved crosses representing Christ and Saint Michel. It survives in the roof, a walkway that allowed to monitor the area.
Beside the church is the fountain of St. Magdalene houn, very famous and popular, to relieve gastric. He is credited with many legends. Sindères retains an ancient priory (remnant of bretèche).
