Castle Suscinio is the monument from Sarzeau!
Set in a stunning South Peninsula Rhuys between land and marshes and close to the ocean Castle Suscinio was the Middle Ages, a favorite residence of the Dukes of Brittany and their Court . Built mainly in the 13th century during the reign of John I., the castle was a residence primarily for pleasure, the Dukes of Brittany loved to hunt in the vast forest that surrounded it.
Fortified subsequently restored several times, this massive monument is undergoing major restoration work for over thirty years. In 1995, the roof of the West and Logis de la Tour Neuve, destroyed during the Revolution, are the subject of a meticulous restoration.
Each summer, they play the "Historical Pageants," the flamboyant costumes under the flashes of an impressive light and sound show!
The castle is open to the public all year, and many cultural events (Festivals historic Academy Theater, conferences ...) are offered during the summer.

Like every two years, the Week of the Gulf of Morbihan take place during the week of the Ascension, at the approach of good weather when it came time to rearm the boat and find the guys on the water. Once again we sail in fleets well identified, local volunteers will lead the stops, ports and anchorages will be celebrating!
