Sanvignes is a town of about 4 400 inhabitants located in the department of Saone-et-Loire in Burgundy.
It is for the agglomeration of the "Coalfield" (40 000) which includes 3 other cities: Blanzy Montceau-les-Mines, Saint-Vallier and is part of the Community of Le Creusot-Montceau. The town lies at the confluence of several locations.
Geologically similar Morvan, attached to the mining area Montceau-les-Mines, the town belongs to one of the landscape units of the Saone-et-Loire in the south-west of the county: Charolais, Charolais Brionnais in part located in Canton of Toulon-sur-Arroux. It is located in a depression between the mountains and the plateau of Uchon Antully of the North, the Mountains of Charolais and Brionnais south on the right bank of the Bourbince. The area is meshed by a network of hedgerows with hedgerow characteristics of scattered settlements. The meadows bounded by low hedges that do not screen and reliefs offer remarkable views. The joint bid under the undulating landscape of groves and pastures designed according to its rivers, Oudrache, and the Bourbince Arroux sinuent who before joining the vast bed of the Loire.
The urban part of the municipality is composed of an ancient village on a green hill. A promontory peak at 414 m is the main signal geomorphological sector, with Mont-Saint-Vincent, who faces him. SIGHTSEEING
The Church of Sanvignes, under the patronage of Saint-Symphorien and originally dedicated to St Helena is the only building that escaped the ravages of time and destruction that accompanied successive wars and conflicts. The church which is simply the old chapel of the castle disappeared, is a monument of the Romanesque 12th-century Burgundy.
The amusement park was inaugurated Pierre Massal December 21, 1982, under Vaillard Daniel, in memory of his recently deceased predecessor who wanted "to his majesty" to the green hills of the southern Theurée which was highly urbanized . Located at the site of the old castle Sanvignes, Park Massal also called Paradise ("Pen of the Lord") offers a magnificent view of the grove Charolais.
