Small village bordering the Dordogne, Salles-Lavalette brings together some 335 inhabitants. The town lies in Occitan and is one of the boundaries with the langue d'oil. The remote location of major cities of Angouleme and Perigueux in fact a place to live and quiet reign.
Salles-Lavalette gastronomic specialties include both those of the Perigord and Charente. It is therefore possible to enjoy a good foie gras as the famous "Cagouilles" slippers.
The vineyards of Cognac raced down the slopes before communal ravaged by phylloxera in the 18th century. Large converted cellar and a few mansions recall this auspicious time. If the vines have been replanted, ranchers took over, making the landscape, flowering rapeseed, sunflower, tobacco, wheat, barley or corn.

SIGHTSEEING
The mill sartyi: This water mill is turning over more than 40 years. Returned to service since 2009 through the volunteer efforts of some residents, it is now possible to taste the bread from flour, the famous bread sartyi proposed bakery Salles-Lavalette. You can visit the mill on Saturday morning or by appointment (groups and schools).

July: Day sartyi Mill. Country Farmers Market, a tour of the mill, the possibility of on-site catering, musical entertainment.
In September: Demonstration of tractor pulling.
Early December: Christmas market with pig on a spit. Carriage rides and tours for children. Farmers Market and local artisans.

You can make as many walks and cycling trails qu'équestres around Salles-Lavalette. Similarly, in all the villages around you can admire the many Romanesque churches.

A Montmoreau St. Cybard is a municipal swimming pool for adults and children. Attention, open in summer season only! Located near the sports complex and stadium.
