Rural community of 1,200 ha, capital of Canton, Salles-Curan lies at the heart of the department of Aveyron. It covers a considerable territory of 9390 hectares, on a plateau very hilly, the plateau Lévézou. It is at Lake Pareloup largest lake in Midi-Pyrenees (1200 ha).

• The village of Salles-Curan has a rich history: Bishops Castle (former summer residence of the bishops of Rodez) Larguier Castle, the 15th with collegiate stalls and stained glass classified to MH, Mr. Grenier, a former mill furnace and banal .
