Rooms, word of Celtic origin, means the place where you stop. Arbuissonnas-rooms, located in the center of the Community of Municipalities, is known by lovers of history and architecture.

The history of the town found the first traces of occupation from the Palaeolithic (37,000 to 5,000 years BC) with arrowheads, scrapers and chisels.

At the time of the Gauls, the sherds comb pottery and not tour, is dated 4th century BC C.

This period extends to the Gallo-Roman until the 4th century base, tripod, vase, jar, dolium.

In the 10th century, the monks of Cluny founded a Priory. The Romanesque cloister has maintained a gallery of columns. The church's 11th century golden stone opens with a beautiful Romanesque door.

In the 14th century arrival of the ladies of the convent of Benedictine Grelonges, an island in the Saone, uninhabitable.

In the 18th century, construction of Chapter Noble Chanoinesses, Countess of rooms, where parents of Alphonse de Lamartine met. The Chapter esplanade shaded by linden trees, is lined with old houses Chanoinesses. The current City Hall is located in a house of canons.
