At the foot of the Vercors, the departure of Goulets Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans, town of about 500 inhabitants, is a busy thoroughfare.

History Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans, more than any other municipality served by the tram line from Bourg Toll - Royans bridge (40 km) is deeply marked by the arrival of the steam tram.

The town has had the rare privilege to have two stations on its territory. Initially, only the terminal located at Fullers Bridge (at the limit of Pont-en-Royans - Isère) should be built. But the council of the town asked that it be done in the village of Sainte-Eulalie (also located in the Drôme while Pont-en-Royans is near Grenoble), to better serve the Vercors, with opening of the first road to open up in 1854.

Finally, at first, March 16, 1901, the station of Sainte-Eulalie was inaugurated in the village, then 3 years later, June 19, 1904, a second station on the Drôme area was opened at Fullers Bridge (at the limit of Isère). Since its commissioning, the station of Sainte-Eulalie enjoyed a movie outstanding serving the Vercors. The story of the little train was stopped in 1934.

Covering an area of ​​614 hectares of economic activity is now largely agricultural: tobacco, nuts, corn, milk production.

Its history is steeped in a rich industrial past with the existence of 350 jobs there ten years against 70 now.

Tertiary activities and services are poorly developed. This is probably due to the proximity of the town of Saint-Laurent-en-Royans. There are still some craftsmen, bars and accommodation.

With the construction of major bottlenecks tunnel, opened in June 2008, the road has definitely supplanted the tram. Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans passage becomes almost "forced" to all who wish to travel in the Vercors.
