Saint-Yrieix-le-Déjalat between Millevaches and Monédières.

The name comes from Aredius St. Yrieix, who was founder of the monastery of Attanum (Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche) and was martyred in 591. Déjalat just thawed desgelat meaning: the town located on a southern slope, the gel will last as long and around the mountain limousine. The Church of St. Yrieix de Limoges (c. 1100), was remodeled in the late Middle Ages and partly rebuilt in the late 19th century. On the square, the monumental cross (seventeenth century) is carved on both sides and has a Crucifixion and Madonna and Child. Its base has a beautiful Romanesque capital (eleventh century) representing the temptation of Jesus in the desert. Another tent (v. 1100) is kept inside the building.

The town is dotted with a dozen monumental crosses, mainly granite but also of wood or wrought iron, was built between the late Middle Ages and the 19th century (including the cross of Beineix 1616), several hundred of farm buildings and mills (XVI - 20th century).

The house-strong Montamar (ISMH) is an outstanding example of buildings erected from 1250 to control the roads of the Limousin.
