Population: 260 inhabitants.

Name of inhabitants: Saint-Paul.

History:

The origin of this village is relatively little known. Some say it was due to division of the country Gaultier, around the 6th century, two parishes that are currently St. Paul and St. George. Others speak just small areas of operations, whose origins are uncertain. Several elements backed the founding of the church in the 12th century and operation of the mill.

SIGHTSEEING

Discover:

Church St. Peter and St. Paul even though its foundation dates back to the 12th century, leaves no trace suppose. That church was completely rebuilt in the 19th century. By cons inside it has maintained a magnificent wooden altar from the late 17th century.

Old house called "mansion" (private property): this house in 1781 and is the work of the contractor John Leboindre. Its particularity is to display the affiliation of the first owner to Freemasonry. Indeed a patch on the main facade presents the insignia of the movement. One can also see a niche containing a statue of St. John the Baptist.
