The history of the town is closely linked to the existence of the lordship of Jaubert.

The main agricultural activity is shared between the grain and the vine: the town is the eastern boundary of the Graves appellation.

The castle Jaubert, owned by the family Pontac since 1594, and recorded in the inventory of historical monuments, preserves the remains of the 11th century and reflects developments in the 16th and 17th centuries.
