The parish was formed in the valley of the Iton under the patronage of Saint Nicolas, an archbishop of Myra (in Asia Minor or modern Turkey) who lived in the 5th century. Who created many miracles, the best known being to have risen several young children had a butcher slaughtered and put in salting. Besides the church of St. Nicolas of Attez, there is a stone statue represented with three children at her side out of a tub. His relics were brought to Italy in 1087 when the Turks became masters of Asia Minor. Foundation Saint-Nicolas-d'Attez Parish dates back to 1100-1246, a church was certainly built, but like many others, nothing remains. The current one that the town has begun his rehabilitation goes back to the 15th century, although with evidence of Roman parts of his grandfather. It includes structures of late Gothic early Renaissance period. The church has several statues, some of which are in very poor condition: Saint Nicolas and Saint Barbara, stone statues and married Madeleine, polychrome wooden statue of the three 16th-century Madonna and Child, stone statue, St. Bishop , wood. The most interesting part of the interior is the triptych of the Rosary. To give a new luster to this church and its furniture, classified, the municipality has carried out such important work. Some of them has been undertaken by the municipal team chaired John Heurtebise.
Dating from the 10th century, the church Saint-Nicolas-d'Attez has undergone substantial rehabilitation. After the exterior walls, roof and steeple in 1998, the municipality has launched a new phase of work. More than 100,000 euros for the rehabilitation work of the church were necessary. The church is open during Heritage Days.
A stone stone Druid named La Gour was found on the territory of the municipality (reference calendar practice of Eure in 1973).
As part of Heritage Days in September, the church Saint-Nicolas is open from 10am to 12pm and from 14:30 to 17:30. The church is open every fifth Sunday of each month.
