Gadaud birthplace of Antoine (1841-1897), doctor of the army, General Councillor, Mayor of Périgueux, Senator and Minister of Agriculture.

This was also the stronghold of Grellety Pierre, Chief Crisp Perigord between 1638 and 1641 (commemorative plaque at the corner of the town hall attached May 14, 1967).

This is the hamlet of Martres that was discovered in 1967 a cemetery where buried barbaric Merovingian tombs (fifth - eighth century). Nearby we find a watchtower dating back to 1800.

The church, in Romanesque style building dates from the 9th century. Partly destroyed in the 10th century during the fighting barbarians, it was rebuilt, including the bell tower of 17 meters during the 11th century. Inside also carved wooden altarpiece, is an array of 4x3 "Admiration of the shepherds," gift of the Emperor Napoleon. September shrines around the town bear witness to a historic past loaded.
