Located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the country Couserans Saint-Lizier is part of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.

In the late fifth century, it was the seat of a bishopric and its name comes from the second bishop Glycerius, which sanctified, was called St. Lizier. This bishopric lasted until 1801 Concordat.
