TOWN PRESENTATION

Probably inhabited since prehistoric times, although covered with forest, the town became part of the territory of a Gallic tribe: the Ségusiaves. Then came the Romans. They convoyed by mules until Feurs goods on a route through Courzieu, Brussieu, the hamlet of La Poste, Bourdelière.

SIGHTSEEING
  • The Church:
  • The only parts remaining are the old tower and the apse of the 15th century. The aisle dates from the 1700s and the naves of 1820.
  • Inside is a confessional Louis XV period, carved in 1764. The windows of the nave were designed and made by the Director of the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Lyon and master glassblower Jean Coquet. Style cubist and neo-Byzantine, they are dated 1939-1940-1941, completion of the workshop is Ms. Lamy Paillet in Lyon and were funded through a subscription to the families of the parish. Jean Coquet has also created the fresco of the nave.
  • The small chapel of Saint-Bonnet:
  • The location of this chapel is surprising: it was built on an ancient pagan place of worship following the death in 722 of Saint-Bonnet, Bishop of Lyon. Many small shrines have been erected after the passage of the mortal remains of St. which is carrying the Ile Barbe in Clermont-Ferrand, his hometown, to establish Christianity. In the 12th century, this area near the Route Aquitaine, was a hospice dependent Commandery Chazelles-sur-Lyon. It gave the Justice until 1793. The place was then called Saint-Bonnet-les-Places, "Places" meaning "road". Place of pilgrimage until about 1950, it brought young children who had difficulty walking. It was renovated by volunteers from the village.
  • Castle Chamousset:
  • It was the property of successive Earls of Drill, the Abbey of Savigny, families Saint-Symphorien Savaron, Saint-Victor. It was demolished in 1283, rebuilt a century later and restored by the architect Duthoit, a disciple of Viollet-le-Duc. François 1er stayed around 1530 and, in compensation for costs incurred, granted the privilege of building in a village hall to host fairs and markets. During the last war, the Count and Countess de Saint-Victor put the castle at the disposal of resistance led by Colonel Mary Basset. That has been organized the liberation of Lyon. The castle is included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
  • Unusual, door Brullioles:
  • Located on the property Chamousset Castle, the place called "Tramoyes" This is the 16th century was removed from the old village church Brullioles in the late 19th century rise in nature because the Holy Family Victor who had financed the construction sought to recover its land. It is included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
  • The castle of Bourdelière:
  • It is located on the old Roman road. It became the royal road and coaches made a stop at the Bourdelière. Montaigne slept at the castle in November 1581: he relates in his travel notes.
  • Very beautiful farmhouse typical of Monts du Lyonnais located above the Aquatic Center. It is built on the model farms and castles and boasts many discoveries made by its previous owners to save time and improve daily. According to Professor Jean-Pierre Houssel, modernization of agriculture and hence increased milk from the 1950s are remarkable in the barn. In addition, concern for housing and not just the farm appear, since it is one of the few farms in time to have a kitchen already.
  • Aquatic Center and Recreation:
  • The center offers 3 pools: sports, relaxation and recreation with a slide of 75 m and an outdoor wading pool.
  • You can enjoy the beaches with outdoor beach-volleyball during the summer. Also a fitness area, sauna and steam room. First floor with 6 bowling alleys, game room, catering.
  • Practice Quad private land over 60 hectares open to trial bikes, quads and 4x4, and the organization of walks in the quads in the Monts du Lyonnais and an orientation tour.
  • Horseback riding and farm 1900: walks, paths discovered on foot, pony and cart rides: a fun way to discover an old farm in operation. Exhibition equipment before the engine.
  • Educational farm offering exploring the farm and its animals: cows, calves, chickens, ducks, goats and sheep.
