Village of Seine-Maritime halfway between Le Havre and Fecamp, the Alabaster Coast. Located 7 km from Etretat, Saint-Jouin-Bruneval is part of the township of Criquetot-l'Esneval. The town of Saint-Jouin Bruneval and that of merging in 1823 to become Saint-Jouin-Bruneval. From 1912 to 1950, the town was called Saint-Jouin-sur-Mer.
February 27, 1942 at Bruneval in Operation Biting, British and Canadian paratroopers destroyed an important radar, with the help of Norman members of the Resistance. In connection with that memory of the Resistance, Bruneval was the site of a famous speech by General de Gaulle, 30 March 1947.
Saint-Jouin, bordering the English Channel, is remarkable for the implementation of site Antifer huge coastal oil terminal, whose construction lasted from 1973 to 1975. The terminal, under the leadership of Grand seaport of Le Havre, is the second French oil port.
