Royal Abbey: The abbey was founded in 817 by Pepin of Aquitaine to receive the head of John the Baptist. Clock Tower: Built on the site of an ancient gate of the ramparts of the 12th century belfry of the aldermen, rebuilt around 1406, containing the sin (the bell) that punctuates the city life. The tower symbolized the communal liberties granted to the city in 1199 by a common charter. Traces of many impacts, memory seats that the city had to endure.
Saint-Jean-d'Angély Museum: It contains the memories evoking shipments Citroën: first car crossing the Sahara (1922), "Cruise Black" left by Louis Audouin-Dubreuil, Angérien of origne, one of two expedition leaders.
