• Presentation of the historic town:

• Saint-Fulgent-des-Ormes is an ancient small town of Orne in the outer and Saosnois perch. Frogent, bishop of Sees in 752, was originally the name of the parish. He added, about 1830, the name of the River des Ormes including alluvial valley, facing the Saosnois, the common boundary to the west. Fertile land was favorable for growing hemp. Furnaces accompanying some hemp farm testify to this activity, which lasted until about 1960.
• East, the territory abuts against the slope of the hills of the Perche. The highlight of the town there are: 120 m near the "Vines". A thick layer of clay is the basis for this relief cuesta. It served to fuel the tile du Tertre which the oven to three lanes heating gave his last brick in 1955.

• The Church of St. Fulgent:

• Furnaces hemp

• Land of the town, rich and deep, were conducive to the cultivation of hemp. Once dry, hemp was crushed with a pitch hand or mechanical grinder (jam) to separate the woody parts (boon) in tow. Hemp "Teil" was reserved for ropes and coarse cloth, hemp "combed" used in the manufacture of finer fabrics, called "stranded wire", and the manufacture of twine.
