Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée The village is located at 1140 m altitude, just 90 km from Nice and 7 km from the resort of Auron. With about 1,350 inhabitants, capital of Canton has preserved authentic, old-world charm and architecture specific to villages in the valley.
Probably inhabited since prehistoric times, Daeliae Insula appointed by the Romans, and Santi Stephani Tinaesis by early Christians, Saint-Etienne de Tinee had a very long history. Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée has 17 churches with 5 beautiful churches and chapels from the 13th to the 17th century, decorated with remarkable frescoes classified. Many sundials.
