Situated in a bend of the Loire, Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire is part of the perimeter of the Val de Loire World Heritage of UNESCO. City Stage located on the historic route from the Valley of the Kings, St. Benedict is located 130 km south of Paris.

• Visit the Benedictine Abbey of Fleury. Visible from afar, the church reflects the vitality of the Romanesque art in the eleventh, 12th and 13th centuries. The construction of this building is centered around the body of St. Benedict, whose relics brought from Monte Cassino by Benedictine monks are the foundation stone. The first buildings on this place (then Fleury was an island in the Loire, considered sacred by the Druids, the Gauls, for which she was the center of Gaul) are two monasteries. An Abbot of Fleury, Mommulus, reported about 660 relics of Saint Benedict.
