Resort called? Queen of iodine?. At low tide, the shoals of rocks along the coast to discover, saturating the air with iodine to wrack and kelp which are deposited.

Created by the will of Napoleon 3rd in 1851, the city Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer combines in perfect harmony the past and present. This fishing village offers a new youth during the roaring twenties with the construction of a dam 1,800 m walk lined with villas and rococo art deco, which have retained their charm.

Located in the heart of the Normandy landing beaches, the seafront has in his largely suffered little harm from the war.

A constant effort of redevelopment has preserved the special character of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer.

Is located at the west end of the beach of Saint-Aubin, before arriving at Bernières-high 6 to 7 meters maximum, it shows three sets of layers: the base, several limestone beds and continuous horizontal; the middle of the sponge reefs recover gradually wrinkles Bedded sands and are cut horizontally at their upper part by an erosion surface (1 and 2 are of Middle Jurassic limestone) at the top, a layer of irregular ferruginous gravels with scattered pebbles and sand, is a marine deposit of Quaternary beach, higher than the present. This layer is topped by thick brown silt, continental contemporaries of the last glaciation. This site is of great geological and paleontological interest.
• The Mother Goddess, Gallo-Roman statue, a copy of which is visible to the Office of Tourism, was found in 1943 by a German officer archeology buff; it also began to date a Gallo-Roman well and a . The original statue we molding is of limestone from Caen, measuring 1.40 m and date from the late 1st century or early 2nd century. It is a well known deity of the Gallo-Romans, the Mother Goddess. This god is Gallic representation of mother earth, dispensing food and guarantor of abundance, venerated by prehistoric man and the Celts. It is the goddess of fertility.
• The anti-tank gun German bunker on 50 mm, the last remnant of the Second World War. This cannon is located at the west end of the dam walk to the corner of Shepherd Street and Canet. The direction of the gun toward the ground makes this gun a single site in the heart of the Canadian (Juno) from the landing beaches.
