The town takes its name from a pit located in the thickets of Gelousière, where we pit trapped wolves formerly because at that time the country was infested. A discovery tour of the assets, using panels, can travel the town in July and August.

• Church of Saint-Aubin:

• Dedicated to St. Aubin, bishop of Angers, the church forms a Latin cross. It includes altarpieces of the 17th century, carved wood, a unique North Mayenne. • Home of the Porch:

• Former village school, the house hid a priest, François Perrier, who had refused to sign the constitutional oath to the revolution. Head of a virgin girded with the Royal Crown occupies a niche on the front. Recent studies have uncovered a furnace garden. This focus allowed to simmer soups over hot coals. It also serves to keep warm dishes before serving at the table.
