This town of just over 550 inhabitants is conveniently located twenty minutes from Limoges as Gueret. Saint-Amand-Magnazeix provides all utilities and proximity.

• The lantern of the dead is a traditional lantern 13th century. It has been classified a historical monument in 1910. It is still inside the cemetery. It has no base but has retained its rustic table to jambs. It is square with canted and has four semicircular bays for light scattering. Its roof is pyramidal. It is surmounted by an iron cross dating from 1842.

• Located in a former Benedictine priory of the 14th century, the first ethnographic museum in the Limousin has 24 rooms (900m ²) of rich and varied collections of everyday life in Limousin in 1900: kitchen limousine girls rooms, carpenter shop, basket-maker, blacksmith? The various reconstructions very neat and with live models and designs will seduce you at any age and you will discover the roots of memory limousine. Each year a new ethnographic exhibition is presented in the annex of the museum: Maison du Terroir.
