TOWN PRESENTATION

Located in the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses, the town of Roquefort cheese, elevation 630 meters, 714 inhabitants, stretches the side of the famous rock of Combalou south Larzac.

Beneath a quiet, Roquefort is also an industrial village where around a thousand people in the refining of the famous Roquefort cheese. Tradition dating back over a thousand years, it is jealously guarded in the depths of its natural caves decorated with the rock in the landslide of Combalou, 2 km long and 300 m wide.

SIGHTSEEING

Gabriel Coulet: Free visit of a reconstituted basement inside a former salting. A documentary traces the history of the family Coulet and the manufacturing process. Tasting.

Le Vieux Berger: Free visit workshops packaging. Following a film as a story you access a glazed corridor to observe the stages of revirage and packaging. Tasting.

From Easter to Halloween: Walking route audio and photo to discover the village of Roquefort.
