Rezé, the third city in the Nantes area with about 39,000 inhabitants, is located south of Nantes which it is separated by the Loire. It is bordered to the west by the valley which separates it from Jaguère Bouguenais and east by the valley of the Sevre that sets the limit with Nantes and Vertou.

Rezé developed at the site of the Gallo-Roman city of Ratiatum, Port of antiquity, which had its heyday in the early centuries of our era. Major excavations are conducted regularly every year around the chapel Saint-Lupien. This 15th century.
