The town was born September 5, 1847 from the merger of municipalities and Reventin Vaugris, the latter having a church or cemetery. Predominantly rural until the mid 20th century, it began accepting industrial areas from the 1970s. The developments that have arisen from the earth the same time makes today a semi-urban town, the gates of Vienna, 40 km from Lyon.

• The church of Saint Saturnin (or Sernin) date of the second half of the 19th century. It was renovated in the 1980s.
• Several walking tours are offered from the village. To do particularly one who descends into the valley where flows the stream Gerbolle and back in the hamlet of La Balme.

• A market is held every Thursday afternoon from 16h to 18h30, on the place of poets, before school Vincensini Paul.
